Surroundings and Excursions

San Bartolomeo al Mare enjoys a strategic location between Diano Marina and Cervo Ligure, which offers the opportunity to travel, explore, and discover the beauties of this area.

We offer various excursions to our guests throughout the seasons.

Discovering the Gulf of Diano… Cervo (IM)

Cervo Ligure, a medieval stronghold in our Gulf, offers us the opportunity to go back in time to the medieval era. Discovering this village means retracing the history of this small settlement perched on the sea, offering unique views and breathtaking panoramas.

The village is dominated by its striking Cathedral called “dei Corallini” and the Clavesana Castle which over the centuries has served various functions in the town, being a castle, church, hospital, and now an appreciated museum hosting temporary and permanent exhibitions.

Cervo was a very wealthy town thanks to coral fishing and trade, and today it is the flagship of Mediterranean gastronomic culture with typical dishes based on fresh fish, Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, and the unique Fava Bean Pesto.

Cervo is part of the consortium of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and is one of the most authentic Ligurian villages on the Riviera di Ponente with almost a thousand years of history.

At its peak stands the beautiful Baroque facade of the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista and, in the village, we find valuable buildings such as: Palazzo Morchio, currently the Town Hall, Palazzo Citati (from the 18th century), and the 16th-century Casa Pretoria.

Cervo is also a land of fine wines produced with typical Pigato and Vermentino grapes, presented paired with local typical dishes with the catch of the day, by all the restaurateurs in the village.

Cervo is just 2 km from the Hotel and can be reached on foot, by car, or by bus.
Throughout the summer, various excursions are also organized towards the hills that frame Cervo, offering a breathtaking panorama of the sunset.

We await you in this corner of paradise called the Gulf of Diano.
